Introduce Yourself! :-) 16/09/2006 10:29
Hello, I'm Jinny the Squinny, and I host this board! I hope everyone will enjoy it. :-) )

I'm the person to whom technical support type enquiries should be directed.

I'm 29 and I live in London with my cat Brian. I work as a care co-ordinator for a home care company in Kent. I'm a Christian but am not affiliated with any church. I studied philosophy and theology at university and enjoy it a great deal.

I have a myspace! http://www.myspace.com/jinnythesquinny (plays music)

Well, perhaps I should have posted here before I posted all that other stuff...

Anyway, I'm Richard, I live in Sydney, I'm in my last year of Uni finishing off an Arts degree with a major in creative writing. In the future I want to get into comics.

I'm a Christian, and I attend a Sydney Anglican chuch (theologically conservative, largely similar to evangelicalism with some differences), but I don't align so well with offical doctrine to really call myself one. It's still a good church, though.

Here's my Myspace, but don't expect great things of it... http://www.myspace.com/where_the_willows_weep

Hello folks...my name is Simon and I live in Brighton UK. I met Martin and Alfred outside a shopping centre in said town, who passed on Survivors to me, and what can I say? A lot of it rang true.

I am currently doing voluntary work for a Detox/Rehab for homeless folks in East Sussex and live with my fiancee.

I am 30 years of age and lightly bearded. My religious background is Pentecostal and Quaker. I attend no formal church but have fellowship with a small group of believers in Brighton.

I believe we've met Jinny, in Peckham a few weeks ago. Hows it going?

Bauldur, we haven't met...have a cyber handshake, and pleased to meet you.

Peace

sure that there are no smiles available.

Hey Simon! Yes we probably did. I'm going great, how's you? :-) )

Rob... here's something I didn't know about wombats I've learned because you saying that made me look them up on the wiki...

When attacked, they can summon immense reserves of strength — one defense of a wombat against a predator underground is to crush it against the roof of the tunnel until it stops breathing. Its primary defence is its toughened rear hide with most of the posterior made of cartilage which, combined with its lack of a meaningful tail, presents a difficult-to-bite target to any enemy who follows the wombat into its tunnel. One naturalist commented, that a predator biting into a wombat's rear would find it "comparable to the business end of a toilet brush".

Cool!

Hello guys and gals. I was checking out the JC website after getting the NL and saw that you had a forum for outsiders to enter and talk. I thought I would give it a go. Hello to you to Dave. It is good that you are giving public forums a go as it opens the door to feedback from others outside your community, always a good thing to do in order to prevent group think happening.

Regarding what I believe or don't believe. I guess we'll find that out as we go. I am hoping this will be a pleasant experience. I note that you have a thread here discussing the upcoming public flogging you mentioned in your last NL. I think I have expressed my opinion on this via email to you directly Dave, but it will be good to talk about it more in this forum.

Hello to all JC's who remember me, and hello to those who do not know me.

I'm Dave. Most of you know that Cherry and I started the Jesus Christians. But I'll add some other background here...

Cherry and I were high school sweethearts. We married when we were both still in our teens. It's a miracle that we are still together after 42 years!

We rent a very tiny one-bedroom apartment near the heart of downtown Sydney, and we regularly attend a local Quaker meeting each Sunday when we are in Sydney. We have been active Quakers for about eight years. I am a registering officer for Quaker marriages, and Cherry is on the Ministry and Oversight Committee of our local meeting.

Before Cherry and I started up the Jesus Christian communities, I worked as a journalist and public relations officer. I also competed as a professional runner in Australia (where head starts give even old clod-hoppers like myself an equal chance with world champions).

I love playing chess, scrabble, and making my own crossword puzzles when I have the time.

Hi all,
My name is Gala and Im new here. Im married with 3 children. On saturday i was in the city (melb) and someone gave me the book survivor. When i got home i wasn't able to put it down. Just weeks ago I read and saw the movie left behind. I was talking to some friends (SDA) about that movie and they assured me it was rubbish, don't believe it. I've not long been a christian (a year) and Im finding it difficult to know what church is the true church. Ive been to 3 churches in the last year and none really have quite got what Im seeking. However, I do believe that JesusChristians may have what Im looking for. A few months back i suggested to a friend how wonderful it would be to live in a community (such as this JC) and to be able to give control of my life to Jesus 100%, and just reach out to those who don't yet know Him. With the way that I live (work, family, sports, social life, study) it leaves little time to not only live for Jesus, but to hear Him amongst my busy life is almost impossible, where does one get the time? At best I give seem to only give about 20% of my life to Him...(how sad). I've asked the question many times, what does Jesus mean when He says..are you willing to give up all that you have..family, work, social life and follow me? (don't remember where that scripture is) A few of my SDA friends have said, he doesn't mean it in that sense...but the conclusion I get is...how plainer can it get? Its a question as plain as day. Anyway, I guess at the end of the day...the question is am I willing? Hope for some enlightenment on this discussion.

God Bless All
Gala
